Matthew Lloyd Architects were appointed by IDM Properties in October 2019 to design a scheme for Highbury Quadrant Congregational Church site in the heart of Highbury, with a view to transforming this island site currently occupied by church buildings which are no longer fit for purpose. The scheme will create a new Church and worship space to serve the existing congregation, along with a Church hall, meeting rooms and additional facilities, which will secure the success of the church for future generations. This new development also includes residential accommodation for the Church, as well as 39 other new energy-efficient homes in a mix of tenures, as well as a new memorial garden and community garden, public realm improvements, disabled parking and cycle storage.
