Bishops Square & St. Botolph’s Hall
Sensitive juxtaposition of new apartments and historic Hall
This building offers a unique architectural solution for this site in Bishops Square in Spitalfields next to a Grade II Listed Victorian Hall, in an intensely urban City setting and on a site of archaeological importance. The scheme includes a very contextual new apartment block above a ground floor restaurant and the sensitive refurbishment of the Hall.
The creative re-use of the existing Victorian Hall as a restaurant for the Michelin-starred Galvin Brothers was central to the successful development of this site. The new mixed-use building and the old Hall now form a pair sitting with real presence amongst towering steel and glass neighbours.
