This youth centre in Dalston forms the centre piece of youth services provision in Hackney. We consulted extensively with young people from the existing youth club, local schools, 6th Form College, Hackney Youth Parliament, and local residents; these conversations informed the design choices as well as the wide range of activities and special projects the Centre offers.

Internally, a sense of openness is achieved with an uncomplicated plan arrangement and generous circulation areas. Striking terracotta cladding, bold colours, and graphics galvanized services, concrete soffits, and a resin floor give the building a robust, semi-industrial feel.
